About Us

Brigadoon Service Dogs is a non-profit organization whose mission is: To provide service dogs for veterans, children and adults with physical, developmental, and behavioral health disabilities, to promote a more independent and enriched life. We change lives one partnership at a time by "offering a helping paw”.

It takes two years and costs $30,000 to raise a service dog. Most people in need cannot afford the cost. At Brigadoon, thanks to people like you, civilians and children only pay a third of the cost and veterans never pay. Volunteer puppy raisers, Prison Program inmates train dogs plus donors help offset the costs. Business sponsors, donors and Auction participants add the financial structure that we need to help change a person's life.

It’s a ripple effect. When you make a big difference in one client’s life with a service dog, you affect the lives of inmates who train the dogs, family members, schoolmates and teachers, friends and colleagues, and their community at large for years to come.
